This part of the trip literally shaved years off of my life!

Long story short. On the way up this mountain we discovered that there was something minor wrong with Harvey.  We are on top of a mountain with no choice but to keep going. On the other side we would find a service station get it fixed and be on our way. A little stressful, but we new something like this could happen. So we stay the night on the mountain in the Big Horn National Forrest. We have a great night.

The next day we start over the mountain, expecting to be delayed some due to having to take Harvey to the doctor.  What I did not expect was a 10% grade on the mountain complete with truck runaway pull offs and brake cooling stations. Even when I saw the signs, I thought that was for big trucks. David having much more sense that me realized this might be an issue for us and pulled off in the first pull off to cool the brakes. Within minutes, the brakes were on fire and the girls and I were putting to use our evacuation plan and saying our prayers.. Pretty scary. David was able to get the fire extinguisher an put out the fire and assess the damage. Thankfully the worst of the hill was behind us and we were able to make it down the rest of the way.
